Hongik Broadcasting Station, "H.I.B.S." began its operation on May 17, 1973. It has since provided Hongik students with campus news and raising their cultural awareness. In order to reach the general student audience, the station has, since 1974, also sponsored a festival for students.
  H.I.B.S. was selected as the winner, on several occasions, in the nationwide competition of university broadcasting programs sponsored by the Mun Hwa Broadcasting(MBC) Corporation, one of the three national television networks. Today, H.I.B.S. broadcasts a rich mixture of educational and cultural programs.
